my favorite movie of all time is "tender mercies" with robert duvall and tess harper. i always identified with how painful it was for 'mac' [duvall] to face up to the destruction that had come from his addiction. my own past definitely looks like i lived by destroying [scorched earth]. i watched it today for the first time in a number of years, and some scenes where 'mac' [duvall] just treats 'rosalee' [harper] miserably, i felt a little angry at his character for being so dumb and hurting 'rosalee' for no reason. yes , g-d is abounding in stedfast love and gracious beyond anything i'll ever be able to understand. that i could see those scenes so differently now from the past is evidence of His healing power. a.'nanny' mouse
